Wednesday 3rd - Every which way

As we arrived in the yard I mistakenly thought ..... not many in today. How wrong could I be.

Rex being an early bird had already started on a few minor bits, to complete the repairs to the Santa coach.

..... and just making minor adjustments to a steel plate.

Ken is working his magic on a valve I think ...... must ask him next time.

John is doing his bit for the 'doorfit' team and is carefully measuring a door skin to be fitted to the door frame underneath it.

Bob volunteered to make a series of brace sections for the side skirts on 1675, by going home time he had cut them all ready for welding in next week.

Trevor is outside on doorfit, and it seems Rex is helping Colin with a window surround.

While waiting for me, Chris is not wasting any time and is cleaning a window frame.

Ainsley, Trevor and Rod discuss the finer points of door fitting.

Dave is filling and sanding various areas on the Santa coach.

Our first chance to take lunch outside, what a glorious day. Its great to be there as the Northbound and Southbound trains cross, we love waving to our passengers.

John and Jenny are re-building a seat, in the background you can see the office door where Eve is usually found.......

She has expressed an interest in multi tasking, so was introduced to preparing seat frames for recovering. She said she found it most therapeutic.

After lunch I decided to move on with welding the side skirts, it is a long tricky job but it is coming
along nicely...

David and Colin working together in the south corridor of 1675.

Its all happening.

Once again a big thank you to Gerry for the photos.

Hope to see you all at the Gala next week, 12th-14th make a note in your diary.
