Monday 24th - Christmas Comes Early

We arrived to find no carriage washers at work. Not surprising really - it was pouring with rain! However John arrived shortly afterwards with gifts!

A short while ago Ian, HoD, had enquired if we needed any more kit. Thinking funds were in short supply I had nevertheless said one of our GTechs had died and it would be nice to have a replacement. And look what has turned up! Apparently C & W had had a very kind donation and we were lucky enough to be one of the beneficiaries. You will see what they are below.

Two For One! One of the units was the hand held version, so as well as this we also have Lynne, a new recruit. She is the partner of Greg, one of our regulars. You can see John is smiling at having a new recruit!

The other two GTechs were already in use, so Kath took the new one into "Mary", which needed it after a busy week of use.

Assembly of this from the box was entrusted to John and myself. Not the best idea! We had to resort to getting Tim to appear with one of the existing ones to see how to do it. It's really not difficult.......

When I went over to the maroon set this was what greeted me.

I thought one of our passengers had had very dirty boots - but Paul owned up it was him, so he felt duty bound to mop it out later.

Also on site today were Greg, Nigel, Paul and Peter. Because of the rain everyone was inside so we were able to do some things that are not on the usual Monday duties.
