Wednesday 5th - It’s all happening

A fairly small number in today, but things always happen that you don’t expect……David is making window frame mouldings.

Geoff is machining a panel for window surrounds on 1675 ……

Ben is applying his fine expertise to a door lock, again for 1675.

Trevor is making way for a new much stronger door hinge mounting plate ..... door hanging is becoming much easier.

Chris made final adjustments to the mounting plate, before welding ...... as you can see the team work very well together.

Every now and then the good old fashioned Oxy Acetylene comes out, this is for brazing Emergency brake gear mounting studs ..... the holes are drilled and tapped and then brazed...... 14 altogether.

Back to Chris, he is cutting out a section of door pillar to make way for the hinge mounting plate.

Bob and Rex made brilliant headway inside 1675, welding in support braces for the new side skirts.

Bob had a bit of re introduction to welding, he took to it like a duck to water and enjoyed doing something a bit different.

David looking a bit surprised ......

Just checking Bob is ok.

As previously mentioned Rex and Bob made a huge leap forward inside 1675, so much so it now has paved the way to get on and finish the outside welding and hand over to the carpenters.

Once again many thanks to Gerry for his photographic exploits.

As I write this we have done 2 days at the Diesel gala, 1 more to go ..... see you tomorrow .
