Monday 14th - Trickling Back

Early September is definitely the time railway volunteers go on holiday. Hopefully Dave and Alex will also be back to blogging this week. Last week there were only 9 for carriage cleaning. Peter and David did an outstanding effort to wash both sets on their own. With only 7 to clean inside no-one could be spared to help them. We were on an excellent family holiday to France, near Limoges, to celebrate my significant birthday. Very attractive part of the world.  With 7 of us we  needed 2 cars so when 3 grandparents were in one car it was referred to as "The Golden Oldie Bus"!

We have several volunteers still away but at least this week the washing team was up to full strength.

Tim, Chris, Peter and Dave, with some of the gardening team at the side discussing what to do next.

We had various holdups on the way down (are all roadworks scheduled for September?) so with only 11 of us it was straight to work and no time for any more photos. Inside were Jane, Kath, Nigel, Roger C, Steve and Val. With bionic replacements taking place, holidays and other commitments there might only be 8 of us next week.
