Thursday 3rd - Overclocked paint brushes

A slow start today, but people soon turned up to crack on with everything we need to be getting on with.

First up Richards I & II were up on the mezzanine working on a new control unit for the RBr:

Richard was also in early top-coating the doors for the Mink:

He later came and helped us on 5042 painting the roof.

The team on SK24006 have moved onto doing similar things for CK16221, they must have enjoyed all that sanding! So Robert and Phil carried on along the corridor:

While Dave sorted out some bits of trim:

Out in the barn Ken was working underneath 34929, yes he's in there somewhere!

There's some cosmetic repairs still left do do associated with the work on the RBr, yesterday David made a good start and today Dave continued:

There's still plenty to do on the rakes outside, Geoff and Alan were repairing some panels in FK 13329, while Dennis was going along testing the water tanks for leaks:

And Paul found some windowsills that benefitted from some more varnish:

I also found Phil hidden away in RMB 1808, not sure what he was doing I'm afraid!

5042 as our quick repaint again saw lots of progress today. Taking over from Richard, Dave carried on top-coating the roof on the Cotswold side:

Bob powered through the end vestibules with a coat of executive light grey:

And Jeff and I took on the first top-coat on the Malvern side:

I was so determined to get the whole side on top coat by the end of the day, that I managed to over-rev my paint brush, oops!

That minor setback aside, at the end of the day and it's all starting to come together:

  3. I like the idea of "over-revving" a paintbrush - must try that excuse the next time one of mine falls apart!! Great work lads!
