I remember 'watching' this (via the C+W blog) as it came together over the whole somewhat long project. Very impressive - and I'm sure it will save the GWSR quite a few pennies! You all managed to recycle/re-use so much (keeping the cost down!) You all were lucky the roof sheets from the yard had just the needed curvature (and you're lucky someone didn't pitch them into the scrap recycling bin before you all claimed them - there can be a fine line between saving, hoarding, and a mess); I wonder what they were on, originally?
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting for some other line to ask if the GWSR can build (for a fee, of course :-) one for them too!
I too watched the build take shape from yhe first to last. It is a very useful wagon which soon earn its keep! One omission that I see is No seats!! If it could be partnered with the inspection saloon, at least the would be tea available!! Regards, Paul. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
