Wednesday 5th - New Volunteers

After a number of weeks not having much to do, at last something to report. With our upholstery department becoming ever busier, today we welcomed 2 new volunteers.

Alice is trying her hand at making cushions, one of our top selling items.

Laura is demonstrating to Kerry the finer points of re-building damaged headrests.

...... Alice and Kerry are here doing there first re-build for the DFR headrest with Laura supervising.

With Eve and Chris continuing to cover the DFR seat set.

For the first time in a long time, the weather was bearable so Steve and myself went to the Open C wagon and prepared the vacuum through pipe mounting brackets, then welded them in place.

Ken can now carry on with the next lot of pipework.

Using our magnetic drill mounting, Steve drilled all holes out to 16mm ready for the new rivet headed bolts ....... by lunchtime it was all done.

Meanwhile Bob was assisting Stuart with brake parts maintenance.

Rex is attending to the final batch of window retainers for 4798.

Ben working on a door, north end of 4798 ......

with assistance from Trevor.

Simon working on panelling in 4798 North vestibule.

A number of radiator mounting brackets have been mislaid, so I set about making a number of new ones.

Towards the end of the day, Rod is checking door hinge pin locking devices.

Many thanks to Gerry and Eve for the photos.
