Wednesday 21st - The Longest Day

After a couple of weeks off, it was straight back in today ..... work is spreading across all three carriages in the respective workshops, not to mention a few in house jobs.

The first in house job, Chris is making sections for an overhead light frame. We are doing this across all three main work areas, Stuart suggested it and a jolly good idea it is.

Meanwhile in 1675 Colin is fixing the first part of another window surround.

Another shot of Chris in a very busy workshop.

Gerry doing the all important window frame preparation, a fiddly and dusty job.

Down in the barn Rex is replacing the end upright Z section on 13326, we are doing this to assist the acrow supports when we remove the entire end and rebuild with all new parts.
Rex is checking the radius of the new section and the carriage side.

Bob has made a Stirling effort with these side skirt strengtheners , one for every section which seems like a never ending job. All that is needed then is weld into position.

David is shaping parts for the window frames.

Ainsley is busy with door lock assemblies.

Welding the overhead light frames to the bench.

Dave is checking some detailing on the Santa coach re-paint.

Back in the barn and 13326, Rex is happy with the fit and is tacking into position. We make sure everything is in the right place before fully welding.

Derek is checking final floor side pieces prior to fixing.

With my on the move theme this week ..... we are now in the paintshop, where Alex is lining out the Santa coach. This is going to look very special.

Back in 1675 Phil is fixing ducting for the various services which will be installed.

Ken is fitting the woods for 1675 North corridor connection.

Tom has been working in 1675 but here is checking his phone.

Thats it for this week, as you can see the teams were flat out with their respective tasks ......

As always many thanks to Gerry for the brilliant Photos
