Sunday 7th - Taking a break

Alex, Nick and I have decided to take a break from the Blog for a while. Roger may still post the Cleaning Team's activities on Mondays.

We will be back.

  1. Thank you all for all the great blogs that you have posted so far - they really are appreciated. The high standards of work carried out by C&W together with the emphasis on safety and good working practices are an example to all railway departments throughout the heritage railway world and your blogs clearly highlight this. Along with the other GWSR blogs, you demonstrate that you have departments that mutually support each other within a friendly environment. I do wonder if anyone has researched how many volunteers have joined your railway after being enthused by your blogs or how much money has been donated to appeals because people are following your blogs - hard to establish but I am sure it must have been significant. You certainly deserve a well earned rest but please be assured that if and when you restart refreshed, your return will be warmly welcomed and not just by me. PS. The drainage blog should be compulsory reading for every P-way manager in the country! Many thanks.

  4. Very sorry to hear that. but it is understandable. You all do such great work on the railway that it must be a pain at times to have to go home and write a blog. I look forward to reading them again in the future.

  7. I always enjoy your blogs, it brings to life all of the activities on the railway which I will probably never be able to see for myself. Have a great break, but please remember us armchair supporters. Graham

  8. All of the above and a "well done" - being on the other side of the world, news normally 'f i l t ers' through just as I've spaced the letters, in drib and drabs. GWSr teams are on a 'higher level' than most so the odd visitor and those elsewhere (myself included) feel in touch. Thanks, enjoy the break and we'll all be waiting in the wings. 10. I too would like to express my appreciation for the informative and regular blogs you have posted; I agree with the comment about being better than daily new media. It is solely due to these and other blogs, especially Jo's that I joined the trust and bought shares for the Broadway extension not having any connection with Gloucestershire or interest in the GWR. I look forward to seeing your postings again when you are ready to do so. Thanks once again for all your postings.
