Thursday 30th/Saturday 2nd - Nearly done

A couple of days to catch up on. Thursday saw us really break the back on the varnishing of the bubble car with four of us on it, Richard did the North end then joined me on the Malvern side:

While Jeff took the South end before joining Bob (who I managed to miss taking a photo of) on the Cotswold side:

Just a second coat on the ends to go now.

Most of the rest of what was going on today seemed to take place outside. Dave came in to change some seats in his brake coach in the third rake:

Richards I & II were changing some lights in the FK:

Although during a sudden downpour it was suddenly much more important to check their remote monitoring system for battering charging on the laptop rather than walk outside :)

Dave later moved on to getting to grips with our large collection of spare seats, to try and figure out what we really need going forwards:

On the fourth rake Dennis and Roger were sorting various things out:

Back inside and it was Just Bryan grinding away at the RBr today, cutting out more rotten steel:

In a sunny spell, the 46521 sports "The Cambrian Coast Express" headboard:

Onto Saturday. There was no wagon gang in today, but Bob and I were looking for things to do so we joined in anyway, and this too is now nearly done. Bob found a few panels that needed undercoating or topcoating:

While I got the signwriting brushes out:

Depot allocation to be done Tuesday, I haven't sorted the template for that out yet.

Another concerted effort in sorting out seats today, dodging the at times very heavy showers was Kevin and Dave, later joined by Bob:

At the other end of the seats spectrum, John and Laura were covering the next RBr chair:

Their side project of diesel cab chairs having been completed, very smart they look too:

John was making more metal bits for doors today, here working out the next steps:

The milling machine and the cross cut saw were both involved:

Into the woodwork shop to find Robert cutting some more bits for door liners:

While Simon was cutting out some parts for upholstery, here interpreting John's drawing before committing to cutting:

Ian was pleased to actually get his hands dirty pulling apart the RBr for a change, rather than doing HoD stuff or driving the shunter:

Kept company by Phil who was in the saloon area:

Pam enjoyed doing the second coat on the lettering for the two new poster boards for Broadway, looking forward to seeing them up soon:

Finally, who's the culprit!? Paul's nice clean messroom floor soiled:

Suspects have been narrowed down to one...
