It's time for another of our Meet The Teams postings. This time it's the turn of our C&W Management Team.

Meet The Teams - Management

The Management Team provide the Head of Department (HoD) with support and guidance across the key aspects of day to day running the department with a key focus on: -

  • volunteer safety 
  • producing the annual budget submission and monitoring spend against budget allocation 
  • procurement and supplier management
  • compliance with agreed vehicle maintenance policies
  • programming restoration, refurbishment and maintenance of vehicles to meet GWSR operational needs

Some members have specific roles and responsibilities: -

The HoD and Deputy HoD have responsibility for establishing effective communication with the GWSR Board (via the Traction & Rolling Stock Director): -
  • providing such information as requested to enable informed decision making 
  • ensuring the Board are informed in a timely manner of issues of concern
  • making recommendations as to GWSR overall fleet strategy for carriages and wagons
In consultation with HoD and Deputy HoD, the Finance representative develops the annual budget submission, monitors spend and cash flow against approved budget and issues/maintains a record of Purchase Orders raised.

The Departmental Safety Representative assists HoD and Deputy HoD with monitoring safety compliance, producing Risk Assessments, raising Volenteer safety concerns and representing C&W Department at GWSR Safety Dept. meetings.
