Monday 11th - One Of Our Cleaners Is Missing

Just the one rake today, as you will see below. It looks like this will be the case until the end of November. Sorry, Train Crew, rake 2 will need your TLC as it is out of reach for us up the North Siding and so only gets used on Saturdays. There is also the DMU for us but with only 7 today there is not enough people power to go down to that as well. Better luck next week!

The first of the team to arrive, was Nigel H at 09:00 - and everywhere was deserted. The team trickled in and finally reached 7 by 10:30. Medical appointments and very heavy traffic being the problem. So John and Paul washed the Cotswold side of rake 1. Ops had kindly parked the set further south so coach A was done for the first time but coach G was off the other end... Later John got the Top Job of toilet cleaning.

Inside assisting Nigel H was Nigel P (a Brace of Nigels!) Kath, Mark and yours truly. Reports were the train was very busy on Saturday (the Pam Ayres effect?) so we were also busy.

Platform 1 was being used by pway, to replace a rail just north of the road bridge. I caught them after they had been working hard but were now planning the next move! Earlier some rails had arrived in the car park.

There was an unusually full car park, and this was why one of our cleaners was missing.

Roger O is also a Station Assistant, and they had organised a jolly in the vintage London Routemaster bus that is often seen at our railway. He preferred that to Carriage Cleaning. Can't think why!
