Monday 27th - Three Firsts
Regular readers will know carriage cleaning is a very routine and predictable day, although none the less important for that. But today was very different - in 16 years of carriage cleaning we have never had a day like this!
To set the scene. Rake 2 was in P1 and rake 1 in P2. However there was a photo charter with rake 1 and the Hymek and they were going to Broadway first. So rake 2 was in the way. The Malvern side of this rake had already been washed so the "outsiders" took a break while the "insiders" climbed into the train - and got a ride down past the signalbox. The Hymek went by through platform 1 and then backed on to rake 1 at the north end. When that had cleared the station we were shunted into platform 2, as the "outsiders" had requested that. So the first first was getting a train ride and the second first was rake 2 got washed on both sides on the same day.
Toilet volunteers one and two were both absent today so Kath got the promotion.
