Wednesday 4th - Housekeeping
With metalwork in short supply, it has made a number of opportunities to do some much needed workshop maintenance ......
We have a large fixed rack to carry most of our steel section, over the months and years it all gets a bit mixed up with off cuts and scrap bits. John is looking at the already vastly improved stock.
Some of these sections are very heavy, so it became a two man job.....
Last week's job was a strip down and clean of our power band saw ..... Ken is replenishing the 'Suds' tank.
Alex had asked for our attention to a top corner of the Mica van, Steve is holding the remnants ..... more holes than steel ......
Steve made the new plate and I welded it into position, with copious quantities of water to cool it quickly. The old timber is a bit on the dry side. It is all ground off and painted in primer ready for the Saturday crew.
In the barn John and Stuart are in conversation most likely about brakes.
Dave having painted these steps, he will paint anything ..... all you have to do is ask.
13326 getting some TLC with Dave priming thr doorframe of Door 4 (Malvern side, south end)
Bob cleaning and preparing window mouldings for 4798, it seems a never ending job.
Ben with more finishing strips for 13326.
Rex is carefully drilling window retainers before fixing into place.
Back to the metal rack ...... John is making three wall brackets for storing long lengths of all thread.
...... Then up to Upholstery, Eve and Laura are fixing a lattice to a seat for the 'Bluebell Railway' ......
...... Laura is showing Chris how to tension the lattice....
..... Then it was cushion production for Chris and Laura .....
...... not forgetting Eve also contributing to the marathon session.
Many thanks to Gerry and Eve for the photos.
