The Flying Scotsman

On our travels again, it was Easter 2017 and friends of ours who live in Kent, managed to get tickets for The Scotsmans visit to The Bluebell Railway.

We joined the Railway at East Grinstead, firstly having a welcome cup of tea in the static buffet car. Being ticket only we felt like royalty and had some of the best seats, well I think so. The gentleman in the Hat gives an impression of the mood of the day.

A bit of camera angle here.

And away we go heading South West towards Sheffield park, stopping at Horsted Keynes and Kingscote.

This is a small scale version, very popular with adults and children alike. Sheffield Park is their head quarters, and where the main workshops are.

No prizes for knowing what she is, much funding is needed to get her back in steam. We have our own problems right now, but wish them luck.

It had to be done!

Looking rather magnificent!

It's always a scramble to get close ups, but I generally find most enthusiasts are willing to share space.

A busy scene, ready for the return journey. We did have a nice stop over at Sheffield Park, I did manage a detailed look around the workshops ..... very impressive!

...... And so the return journey to East Grinstead.

Like a scene from 'The Railway Children', it was like this all the way back. There was certainly many hundreds of all ages waving, we felt like Royalty ..... it was a very special day and a privilege to be there.
