Monday 11th - Multi Hat Day

John Mac, cleaning team leader, had first of all to don his signalman hat to work Winchcombe 'box and then to Toddington 'box for a RRV move. Then he changed hats to toilet cleaner!

Rake 2 was in P1 with carriage "A" on the platform - first time in 29 weeks. Fortunately it cleaned well and not a problem as the other side had been.

The washing team was Tim, Peter and Chris. Internal cleaners were Greg, John S, Kath, Lynn, Nick, Nigel Steam and self.

  1. Dear Roger,
I wonder if any consideration has been given to moving the carriage cleaning operation to Winchcombe?
This would enable yourselves to clean a complete rake due to the longer length of platforms and obviate the current problem of the end coaches only being cleaned when they are actually in the platform and can be safely dealt with.

    1. I think the operational requirements to start from Toddington means they are stabled at Toddington. It is on the wish list to extend Toddington platforms which would obviously solve the problem.

    2. C&M department are starting extending Toddington’s platforms at the Northern end starting at the end of May. Regards Terry

    3. Dear Terry,

I thought that the intention was to extend them at the Southern end which was why the crossover was moved towards Winchcombe. Also, I think that the northern end of Platform 2 is too restricted to build a compliant width extension.
