Saturday 5th - The start of a long road
Just a few photos today as Dave wasn't in, and I was helping run the inaugural meeting of the youth group. So thanks to James for most of the photos.
Not quite sure what Alan is doing exactly here, but most of the day he was back on welding up window surrounds on 4798.
No idea what Phil was doing!
No difficulties in determining what's going on here, Matt cleaned up another couple of vac cylinders with the carbide tipped scraper.
The main focus seemed to be on the new FO arrival 3127. It's going to be a while before we get to this properly, but some initial work is going on while it's in the works siding. Bob set the ladder up to take a look at cleaning the gutter out.
Inside there was lots of tidying up with Dave, Richard and Paul all getting stuck in.
Plenty to do in here, as Paul continues the tidying.
A view outside as the shunting team were forming the third rake up ready for the Autumn Showcase at the end of the month. Always a good fun event, this one will be 3850's first gala, and Dinmore's last before withdrawal for overhaul. The goods train will of course be out and about too. Final pic of the day from Paul, "When's the cream tea being served!?" Not for a while yet...
