Wednesday 16th - 'The Return of the Seven'

Well in fact it was 10, I think and apologise to anyone I missed out.

A number of jobs had arisen, both in the workshop and on a couple of carriages.

We will start with Christmas decorations,

Jenny from upholstery wondered through the workshop wearing our Christmas decorations, yes thats them! All of the others are in use for the Santa specials!

Phil is seen here refurbishing sliding door tracks .... hang on, he was doing that before the

second lock down.

We are improving all equipment storage, which is much safer for all of us but also makes things much easier to find.

Rex designs the brackets, cuts the sections and then ......

I come along and weld them together.

Bryan took on the task of ladder wall fixings, of which there are many. He made great progress but there are many more to do, with the very limited amount of us there it is much easier to crack on with these sort of jobs ....... also from the distancing point of view we were all able to work on our own.

Once again Bryan assembling a fixing in what is an unused corner, ideal and much safer for all.

An amazing piece of work, done by John .... he made the netting for this luggage rack. It is so good

I think he will be doing many more of these.

Back to the vehicles, this one has been brought in for some remedial work on leaky window frames,

the usual problem was discovered.

Gerry prepared the area and the the patch, I welded it .......

And Gerry finished the area and painted it, it is now ready for the Thursday crew to refit the window frame.

Lastly Gerry is cleaning up these spacers, they are required in various thicknesses for the bolster assembly to get the correct ride height. We are not sure when we will be back, especially if we go into a further lockdown before or after Christmas.

Best wishes and seasons greetings to all our readers from the Workshop team.
