Wednesday 9th, It's all happening.

Hello, my first attempt at blogging .... here goes.

Wednesday 9th September if my count was right about 14 in the works

The upholstery team working hard as always
A long view of the carpentry workshop

Rod doing surface preparation to RMB 1808 in the paintshop
Des seen here varnishing new window surrounds, rather a lot of them.

Luckily it was tea break as P&O came through Winchcombe, complete with many passengers. We always stop to wave.

Gerry is checking and preparing a heavy former for making door skins. Some doors skins are now getting beyond patching.
Ken is sizing a collar for a steam pipe connection, we have a number of Flexi pipeswhich are a bit on the large size ...... this should do the trick.
Gerry again ( he is popular )  is prepping the north end BSK 34929 vestibule metalwork for 2 missing fixing brackets, Ken is making a stock of new brackets. This will pave the way for the Saturday crew.

Rex is painting a set of floor brackets for storing 6 metre lengths of various diameter pipes, these will make life safer and much easier to find the required pipe.

This was last weeks work, a complete assembly and roof plate fully welded .... just needs coupling up.

  2. Wow! We were wondering what had become of the C&W blog site, now we know!

Please wish Peter our best wishes, it may get quite dark at times Peter, but it does get better. Been there wiith that one and now got thyroid cancer and hopefuly beating that as well, so Peter get in there and knock it out, ask for and use the MacMillan nurses for help and assistance, they are brilliant.

Now the blog, it will take a lot of work, but if this is the start of a new blog then keep up the good work, it looks so good and fresh, how much time was spent tidying up the place before taking pictures?!!!(LOL).
Well done the new blog team and the teams at C& W, we did not know that there was so much work done by your department and so many sub divisions, It started to remind me of the Wolverton Works, I used to work in many years ago, I worked for an equipement repair company and would be in the different departments for two to five days a week at times!
Again, best wishes to Peter and look forwards to the next edition, this is the only time we get to see what is going on behind the scenes and at the line as we are both still confined to barracks as we are both still "very high risk".
    Regards Paul & Marion
