When we arrived this was waiting for us in the waiting room.
And the contents were amazing!
So whoever you are Santa, thank you very much. I used the chamois cloth very effectively later.
And so on to routine. Tim, Paul, Peter, David and self were washing the outside of rake 2 which is usually under the bridge and out of range. When I checked later this was the first time we have been able to clean it this year - no wonder it took a long time!
This was the equivalent carriage in rake 1. Again it took a long time. I had to use a sponge scourer to remove ingrained dirt on the window, even after it had been washed. I had used the new chamois cloth on the windows along this rake which judging by the dirt on the cloth was a very effective use of it. Paul and Tim spent a lot of time "detailing" on this and I hope you agree it looks much better. You can examine it closely at the Gala!
The rest of the team today was David, Greg, Jane, John M, John S, Kath, Lynn, Rich, Roger C and Val. Not forgetting Long Tall Steve who also cleaned the platform 1 waiting room.
Yes, a gentleman came in on Sunday and left the cleaning materials. He had been clearing out his late father's house and said that wanted to give the items to the carriage cleaners.
ReplyDeleteHow thoughtful of him to think of us.
