Wednesday 10th - A job for everyone

With the large amount of skill sets, it can be difficult assigning the right jobs/tasks to keep everyone busy.

As volunteers we freely give our time and expertise, and love what we do.

Alex has asked for metalwork replacement on the MICA van, Steve started removing some very tired sections and making new ones ........

Then I tacked each piece into place, once all parts are there they are fully welded.

Once more unto 1675, Ben and Rod deliberating the finishing touches to a capping strip on the Cotswold side emergency door.

Simon working away in the South vestibule of 13326. The door finishing strip will need a bit of work but other than that its nearly done .

Great to have Bryan back, he was straight into 4798 assisting Gerry removing windows ready for replacement metalwork.

Their first job of the day was to collect a gas cylinder from our welding supplier.

Dave is working on the trestles preparing a heater grill. These will have a coating of spray lacquer ......

..... and then priming metal sections for the Open C wagon refurbishment.

Bob is fitting fireproof board to the gas locker door on RBr1675

And finally Derek is repairing exterior boards on the Monster van, no rain so a good excuse to get outside.

See you all at the Diesel Gala. As you read this we will have just finished day 2, so if you haven't been yet, hopefully we will see you tomorrow.
