Tuesday 14th - Battens? Five metres long?

Yes please Robert, four battens each 5 metres long.

[Photo : Robert]  Thankfully we do have some very long pieces of tongue and groove.

[Photo : Robert]  First job is via the large saw.

By the time I came to take some photos Robert had already created the four battens.

The next job is to locate the four blue trestles, ideal for priming by Keith, and of course subsequent painting.

Maurice, what do you mean, you're on strike?! There's a white board full of jobs for the Tool Van!

One of which is to clean up and paint the wheels.

The droplights need a light sand and another coat of varnish.

[Photo : Robert]  Robert also created some more roof support sections for 92.

Ainsley prepares the plyboard back for the final quarter door from RBr 1675.

Robert prepares the Malvern side emergency doorway ready for the capping strips.

Further along on the same side Ainsley is attaching the capping strips to the centre doorway.

Bob painted in dark grey undercoat the U sections for the corridor connections on FK 13326.

All nicely labelled up and everything getting increasingly easy to locate. Great job Kevin!

There was some rain during the day, but otherwise it was very pleasant outside. Good news for the Railway's Santa Team who, with many extra helpers, were working hard at the station putting up the lights and decorations for this year's Santa Specials, which will be starting very soon.

More good progress with SK 25488 with four members, and later myself, getting stuck in. Ian continued cleaning up the buffers and surrounds at the north end, which had been started by George on Saturday.

Alan was doing the same job at the south end.

Stu began his day giving the Malvern side gutter and top panel a second top coat.

On the Cotswold side Richard started top coating the window frames and worked his way along to the centre door.

Keith undercoated both the sides and outer face of the south end corridor connection door. This had been taken off to shorten slightly as it had been rubbing the vestibule floor.

The next job for Keith was to clean up and repaint the Cotswold side steps and sole bar.

Meanwhile Ian had progressed to the north end corridor connection.

A recap at the end of the day. On the Malvern side, the gutter and top panel with two top coats. The centre and bottom panels with one top coat, leaving just the window frames for the first top coat.

The north end top coating started.

The south end top coating almost complete, with just the electrical connections, lamp brackets, buffers and surrounds, and main edges to do when the demarcation tape is repositioned (the dark yellow at the base of the end plate is the reflection of our paint cupboards). The Cotswold side first top coating is almost complete, with just the gutter and north half window frames to do.
