Wednesday 1st - A variety of jobs

A day of yet more problem solving, it started for me with Malcolm from S&T asking for a small welding job. Accuracy being very important. I asked what is it, the reply 'A Signal Detector' at this point Malcolm explained how it worked. Hence the saying you learn something new every day.

We are always happy to help other departments.

Phil is cleaning what look like door locks, he spends hours with small parts.

Stephen has removed all the dusty stuff from this seatback, and seems much more comfortable without the dust mask.

The team at work, I believe this is one of 24 seats from RBr 1675 getting the treatment.

Dave is quietly working away on a seat base, these guys are always busy.

Meanwhile in the paintshop, 34929 needs another small oversight rectifying. This was a simple fix, welding 2 captive nuts for the outside grab handle. Once it had cooled Ainsley then set about re-fitting the wood frame into the channel.

In the woodwork shop, Rod continues with a door rebuild for 16221.

Ben continues with the renovation of door lock assemblies.

We have a number of in house projects on the go, but eagerly await our next vehicle to do what we do best. This should be the TOAD, all we need is space.
I will keep you informed as it happens.
