Wednesday 7th - Normal?

The first Wednesday for a very long time, about 10 of us braved the cold. We are in the middle of changing things around in the workshop, it will be much tidier with more bench space and floor space.

Rex had pointed out an extra pair of trestles would be very useful, so he set about cutting the required lengths . I welded them up and he painted them, another job done.

Bryan was tasked with making a new wall mounted base for the bench grinder, here he is at the design stage.

Outside Richard was busy with removal of timber from the Mink A pending shot-blasting.

Yes he has found some more work for the 'Metalwork' team.

Back in the warm, work is forging ahead with 34929. Steve is surveying panelling in the North vestibule.

Meanwhile Dave was filling various places on the P-Way mess coach.

John seen here lowering the carriage M4787 back on its bogies, John will then be checking ride height ready to go into service.

Dave is recovering a seat base, but had time for a chat. The upholstery team are a very friendly group.

John and Jenny re stringing luggage racks, Jenny found time to make a prototype cloth bag to keep our rather expensive welding masks in. First class job, just two more to make.

Rex looking serious, he has just fitted up the broom rack on the wall. Thats less clutter on the floor.

Gerry and myself were involved in making suitable racking for 6 metre lengths of steel stock, in fact we were so carried away I forgot to take photos.
This has been a useful opportunity to improve the working environment for everyone.
