History: Preserved in 1987 at Dean Forest Railway, in use as volunteer dorms by 1993. Sold in 1995 and went to Chippenham, then sold again in 1996 to Yeovil. It moved to the nascent Stratford & Broadway Railway (based at Long Marston) in 1999. By 2008 it was restored and operational, and moved to Mid Norfolk Railway by December 2011. It arrived on the GWSR in April 2015. Initially hoped that few repairs would be required to put it back into service, substantial work discovered resulted in conversion for a wheelchair accessible area, and finally outshopped in February 2018.

History: Preserved 1983 from Bristol. On the West Somerset Railway until August 2001 when it moved to the Battlefield Line. In November 2008 it moved again to Chasewater, and then to GWSR in December 2017. We think this is the oldest Mk1 left in existence, and the interior is still largely in original condition. Some minor works have taken place out in the yard to make it watertight while it waits its turn.

History: Preserved 1986 by the Blackpool Loco Society, it was stored at Carnforth until 1992 before moving to the GWSR. Restoration began in 2011 but was halted due to discovery of asbestos which was removed in 2016. Work restarted by August 2018 and it entered service at the beginning of the 2023 season.

History: BR conversion to BSOT removing one seating bay for catering trolley. Preserved in 1987 by Peak Rail, arriving there in 1989. Never used, and sold to Swanage in 2000. By 2002 it was at Crewe, finally arriving, still unrestored, on GWSR by July 2003. Restoration had begun by May 2008, and outshopped in 2010. Refurbished and repainted again in February 2016.

By May 2014 moved to Avon Valley Railway after refurbishment complete, then to GWSR in January 2018, where further refurbishment and repaint was completed in March 2019.

Arrived at East Somerset Railway in 2021, and by 2023 it had bee repainted into crimson & cream before moving to West Somerset Railway. It arrived on the GWSR May 2024.

History: Preserved in 1997 going to the Northampton & Lamport Railway, then to Mid Hants by 2000. Arrived on the GWSR March 2011 and was operational until withdrawal for overhaul in 2014, which is ongoing at Toddington. Painted at Winchcombe Summer 2022, now back at Toddington for internal refit.
